New Exhibitions Coming Up

Have been very busy getting work ready for an Up Coming Exhibition at Dovetail Furniture Design Gallery, 5 Merrigal Rd, Port Macquarie.

The Exhibition is set to run from 12 September 2008 to 12 October 2008.

An opening night will be held on Saturday 13 September 2008 at 5.30pm. So hope to see you there.

I should be able to get between 40 and 50 paintings up on the wall. So that will be great.!

The gallery has great light, white walls and the work is presented in a home like atmosphere with fantastic unique hand crafted timber furniture by Richard Ellis (gallery owner and operator)

Here are a couple of the paintings that will be on display.

Some ink and Line Work

I have been working on a few small ink and line works. This is like doing preliminary sketch work in my sketch books only I have been working on canvas and board instead.

I have then been working with "Liquid Spectrum" Concentrated Artists Ink which is really bright and strong and allows some some great fluid effects.

Here are a few photos of the process.

New Oil Paintings

Its been a busy week, what with preping boards, stretching canvas and doing a fair bit of sketching and line work I also managed to work on two good sized oils and get them up to the "looking" stage. This is the stage where I have to see them from a variety of angles, lights and different situations and frame of mind to work out if they are going to survive or not.

So far these two are looking good.

They are are still wet and may yet have some more work done on them ( and a varnish or two in the next few months )
